Mel (they/them) is a multi-media artist, quilter, and Butoh dancer based in South Central Pennsylvania. They graduated with a BA from Bennington College in 2022.

Their art practice transgresses what is considered domestic craft, and formal dance tradition. Their current work primarily focuses on the exploration of their diaspora as a Turkish American, the relationship between body, movement, and space, as well as their trials with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The viscerality and sentimentality of these unique life experiences are imbued in their experimental quilts and improvised choreographies.
